Job Summary:

The Warehouse Officer will work under direct supervision of Operation Director of SESC. He will be closely working with the Project Implementation Unit to struggle for an effective warehouse, inventory and asset management system.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor of the SESC Warehouse Management to manage their routine tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensure warehouse security and safety of materials.
  • Facilitating and arrangement of space for incoming Goods.
  • Loading and off-loading the material in coordination with the related unit and discuss/explain SESC procedures with the representatives of shipping company.
  • Ensure that the workers maintain discipline to avoid crowd/rush that may lead to disruption during counting and keeping track of number of unit off-loaded/loaded.
  • Assist the SESC Technical Team to check the quality of product and maintain inventories of material that is being processed and material that is tagged and ready for distribution.
  • Maintain Tally/Tracking Sheets against each of the container/wagon off-loaded. Upon completion of off-loading, check the arithmetical accuracy and get the signatures of other stakeholders involved in off-loading operation. In case of any torn/slack/damage units, keep them aside and immediately upon completion of off-loading, carry out reconstitution/repackaging and clearly note the loss/damage on such reconstitution/repackaging in the Tally Sheets. Apply the similar procedures during delivery of products.
  • Correctly manage and account for all incoming and outgoing stock by using well maintained and detailed documentation.
  • Completing waybills, custody transfer forms, and other documentation related to material inventories and shipments from other companies.
  • Regularly reporting changes in material inventories to the direct supervisor.
  • Ensure Warehouse safety measures are strictly followed.
  • Make sure that the asset tag # is released and paste to eligible items.
  • Make sure that inventory database is properly handled and the reports are accurate and reliable.
  • Managing Stocks for both supplies and equipment according to the SESC management manual.
  • Monitor all stocked items condition.
  • Ensure that requested items are dispatched as per plan to the destination points and expected destination on time.
  • The stock for the emergency programs should be in place.
  • Liaise the store-related issues with department heads and directors.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports and submit it on time to Operations Director.
  • Monitor available supplies, materials and goods in order to ensure that implementation unit have access to the materials they need on time.
  • Maintain cordial and good relationship with all officials.
  • And other related tasks as assigned by respective supervisors

Job Requirement:

  • University degree, (Bachelors minimum) is required in Business Administration or BSc Economics.
  • At least 5 years of experience in warehouse management and Inventory control with international NGOs or Government.
  • Experience with Donors and Government is an asset and warehouse Management is preferred.
  • Basic experiences in warehouse managing and inventories.
  • Ability to be flexible, work irregular hours and be multi-tasked. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Intermediate in written and spoken English, and fluent in Dari and Pashto is essential.
  • Proficient in MS Office and warehouse/inventory applications are required.
  • Skills in database management and record keeping.
  • Reliable, Honest, Transparent; Commitment for hard work & exceptional work ethics.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Good communication skills.


Note: The warehouse/inventory officer duty location is in Noor Hewad Pole Manufacturing Factory closed to Bagrami Kamari Kabul Afghanistan.
